Our clients, who are the survivors of the Richmond House fire, have once again been mentioned in Parliament. The residents were victims of a fire that destroyed all 23 flats, where 60 of them lived. We are currently helping the residents hold Berkeley Homes and Metropolitan to account and claim damages to get their lives back on track.

Ruth Cadbury, MP for Brentford and Isleworth raised Richmond House in Parliament yesterday when discussing fire safety issues. She argued that fire safety regulations should not just be about cladding, nor buildings under 18 metres high, and used the Richmond House fire to demonstrate this. 

Despite Ms Cadbury’s points, the government rejected amendments to the Fire Safety Bill, which fails to protect leaseholders from the huge costs of non-cladding defects or any defects at all in buildings under 18 metres.
