Bindmans partner Saimo Chahal, the lawyer who acted for Tony Nicklinson, the man with locked-in syndrome who died after losing a legal bid to end his life, says that unaired legal arguments in his unsuccessful battle can be revived should another claimant come forward seeking to pursue his case.
Commenting in a report in The Guardian, Saimo Chahal said: “There is strong public interest in this issue being pursued and considered by the highest court in the country – the supreme court.”
Jane Nicklinson said she would “support 100% anyone who is willing to take the case forward. I hope that Tony’s contribution can help, and I am happy for anything he has said to be used to further the case. At the very least he has left a legacy.”
