1 min

Anna Thwaites, Joanna Bennett and Sid Sangameswaran of Bindmans LLP with Counsel Maya Sikand KC and Claire Overman from Doughty Street Chambers act for the bereaved family of Stephen Dymond in an inquest due to commence on Tuesday 3 September 2024.

Mr Dymond participated in a recording of the Jeremy Kyle Show, during which it was revealed that he failed a lie detector test he took to demonstrate that he had not been unfaithful to his partner. Mr Dymond died of an overdose several days after recording, and the episode was never aired. Shortly afterwards, ITV cancelled the show entirely.

The inquest, being conducted by HM Area Coroner for Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton, will run until 10 September 2024 and is due to receive evidence from Jeremy Kyle as well as from those involved in vetting Mr Dymond’s application to the show.

Mr Dymond’s immediate family will not be giving interviews or comments at this time. We ask that the family’s wishes are respected during these difficult times and that all media requests are directed to press@bindmans.com only.
