Liz Barratt, Joint Head of Immigration, comments on today’s Times article stating:
“At the start of the year it was unimaginable that Brexit could be overshadowed by any world or domestic news but it has been easy to forget that agreements about the UK terms of departure are yet to be settled on. What we do know is that the government has made clear its determination to replace EU freedom of movement with UK restrictive immigration rules. The football season may be on hold for all levels of the game but clearly the Premier League and FA are looking ahead to a post Brexit football era. For many fans the loss of freedom of movement may not just affect their teams’ performance in international competitions but also their ability to follow their teams with ease across Europe.”
