Following a complaint by Baroness Jenny Jones, the IPCC announces independent investigation into the shredding of documents following the announcement of the public inquiry into undercover policing

A police whistleblower who alleged that documents were shredded during a “cover-up” at Scotland Yard has claimed he was told “nobody died” when an internal investigation dismissed his concerns.

The watchdog is also investigating a complaint by Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb that records held by the Met, relating to her, were destroyed or deleted around June 2014.

Jules Carey, Partner at Bindmans LLP, acting for Lady Jones, claiming that the Met’s explanation of a clear desk policy was implausible given Mr William’s claims that such activity was ‘highly irregular’.
