Liz Barratt comments on today’s article in The Independent, which states : ‘They can effectively blame Covid for everything’: What coronavirus means for Brexit talks .
Liz comments: “We are close to midway through the year set by the government for trade / exit deals to be agreed, or not, between the UK and the EU. An extension is possible if the parties agree next month. The political climate now is unrecognisable from the febrile Brexit atmosphere of 2019 as all of Europe concentrates on the Covid-19 pandemic. It remains to be seen if the UK government is determined to stick to the one year transition period given all the economic uncertainty caused globally by the pandemic”.
