Bindmans Public Law and Human Rights partner, Alice Hardy, is acting in relation to a key public law case looking to halt UK arms sales to Israel.
Along with Palestinian human rights organisation Al Haq and UK-based Global Legal Action Network (GLAN), the firm wrote to the Secretary of State for International Trade, Kemi Badenoch, asking her to suspend all weapons export licences to Israel due to the risk that Israel may use British arms to violate international humanitarian law.
The groups have made it clear that failing to immediately suspend export licences for British weapons linked to Israel’s breaches in international law would result in a judicial review challenge being brought before the High Court.
The action is supported by the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP).
