On Wednesday 9 June 2021, the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) was launched in London. Bringing together lawyers, UK politicians, and academics, the ICJP is an organisation that coordinates legal work in jurisdictions around the world to promote and protect Palestinian rights through the law.
Tayab Ali, partner in our Crime, Fraud and Regulatory team, is a Co-Director and founding member of the ICJP, a project that has been in the works for over a decade.
Speaking about the recent launch of the organisation, Tayab comments:
It has been a privilege to be able to bring together some of the world’s leading minds in law, politics and academia on the Palestine issue and to be collectively working to protect Palestinian rights. I hope that the ICJP will be an important part of finding a peaceful resolution which is in the interests of all the people in the region.
The ICJP has a number of highly respected advisors, advocates and staff members working to support the rights of the Palestinian people, including Sir Geoffrey Bindman QC (Hon), founder of Bindmans LLP. The organisation is a significant step in the right direction in the fight for justice for Palestinians around the world, and we look forward to seeing the impact it will have on many peoples’ lives in the future.
