A further spotlight has been put on the Richmond House fire which took place in 2019 and questions have been raised around the safety of mid-rise buildings. The Sunday Times commented “What happened at Richmond House on September 9, 2019, shows that the scandal over building safety spreads far beyond dangerously clad tower blocks. Four million people in England alone could be affected.” While specialist Housing publication ‘Inside Housing’ reviews the argument surrounding the 18m requirement for funding assistance to remove cladding.
