On the release of an inconclusive London Fire Brigade investigation report into the 2024 fire that destroyed their building, residents have been interviewed by the BBC and repeated their requests to the building freeholder and insurer to share information about the fire.
The LFB report has been previewed to residents ahead of full release. The LFB have been unable to identify the exact point of origin and cause of the fire. They attribute development of the fire to several unknown flaming objects travelling through the air and igniting combustible materials, which led to fire spread up the building. Bindmans represent the leaseholder and tenant residents of the Spectrum building.
The residents’ solicitor, Christian Hansen of Bindmans, has commented:
The victims of the fire deserve to know what happened to their homes but the building freeholder and insurer are keeping information about the fire to themselves. The residents and Bindmans continue to push for answers and for justice.”
The residents’ interviews were covered on BBC London Evening News. The coverage started after 5 minutes and 20 seconds and can be seen here.
