Divinea Lyman

Trainee solicitor

Divinea is a trainee solicitor in our Employment team.

She joined Bindmans as a paralegal in December 2022 and is currently undertaking her training contract with the Employment team since September 2024.

Divinea has assisted on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters including:

  • Unfair dismissal
  • Discrimination claims
  • Grievances
  • Disciplinaries
  • Redundancies/Restructuring
  • Drafting Employment Contracts, Policies, Handbooks
  • Settlement Agreements

She assists clients and counsel at the Employment Tribunal and helps them prepare for their preliminary and final hearings.

Education and career

Before joining Bindmans, whilst studying the LPC LLM, Divinea worked as a housing paralegal assisting with casework on eviction, neighbourhood disputes, disrepair, homelessness and harassment matters in a London law firm for a year.

During her law degree she was an adviceline volunteer at Citizens Advice Bureau. She was also a student legal advisor at Portsmouth General Legal Advice Clinic, where she gave advice regarding tenancy, employment and family issues.

Divinea graduated in 2020 from the University of Portsmouth with a LLB in Law with International Relations and completed the LPC LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law in 2022.
