Crime, Fraud and Regulatory

Kiya is a trainee solicitor in our Crime, Fraud, and Regulatory team.

Kiya has experience working on a diverse range of cases including complex general crime, sexual offences, terrorism, and extradition involving human rights arguments relating to prison conditions and the right to a fair trial.

She has also assisted in regulatory proceedings and cases where human rights have been violated.

Kiya has experience of all stages of criminal proceedings, including investigations, proceedings in the Magistrates Court, Crown Court, and High Court, and has assisted in the preparation of an appeal and sentencing hearings.

Education and career
  • Kiya graduated with a First-Class degree in English Literature from University of Sussex.
  • She completed both of the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations and finished the SQE2 in the first quantile.
  • Kiya has over 3 years’ experience in criminal law, previously working at the Crown Prosecution Service in general crime, organised crime, and then terrorism.
  • She joined Bindmans LLP as a Trainee Solicitor in January 2024.
  • Kiya has also volunteered with a charity providing a wide variety of support for refugees in the UK and abroad.
